POLICE officers were out in force at the weekend to try to tackle rowdy behaviour on Middlesbrough estates.
In recent times, October has been particularly troublesome on housing estates. In Ocotber Last year, 884 anti-social behaviour incidents were recorded across the town.
Inspector Gary Gamesby, head of Middlesbrough Police Operational Support Unit, who coordinated the operation, named Hawk, said: "The aim was to reduce residential crime, nuisance and anti-social behaviour."
Hawk stemmed from Operation United Estates, set up this year under the umbrella of the multi-agency Neighbourhood Nuisance Task Force.
