JAWS lookalike Gary Tiplady really got his teeth into his role in one of the region's shopping centres at the weekend.
Fans were happy to find themselves in the vice-like grip of the gentle giant, doubling as James Bond bad guy, Jaws, on Saturday.
Corgi is promoting its range of toys linked to the famous film genre at the moment, with characters from the spy movies appearing at locations across the UK.
Gary, from Newcastle, was chosen by Andrew Masheder, who runs a model shop in York.
"He certainly attracted a lot of interest as he handed out promotional items on the street outside," he said.
"Plenty of people were getting their cameras out to have their pictures taken with him, some posing while he had them in a head-lock."
However, it would seem even Bond comes second to David Beckham and Co - trade across York city centre dipped after England's 2-2 draw with Greece kicked off.
"We still had customers but it was quieter in the afternoon," said Mr Masheder.
"Our event was planned months ago so we couldn't change it but it's something to bear in mind if we do anything else in future.''
