AN artist has had several works stolen from his doorstep.
The items were contained in a black art bag, measuring 18in by 12in, which was accidentally left on the back step of a house in St John's Road, Shildon, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on Friday.
The bag contained paint brushes, paper, pencils and other equipment that had been collected over a number of years.
There were also books, several unfinished paintings and a completed work of Shildon Main Street in the bag.
The value of the contents is estimated at about £300, but is worth much more to the artist.
