THE North-East's newest recording studio has opened its doors.

O2 Studios is located close to The Arc, Stockton, and will offer musicians the chance to use technologically-advanced facilities.

"There's nothing like this outside of London or Manchester," said Andy Brodie, managing director of the studio.

"No expense has been spared in the design and build of this facility, to ensure sound purity."

The £1m studio, which aims to focus on high quality production, encompasses two fully soundproofed, acoustically-treated rehearsal rooms in addition to the latest in recording suites and sound engineering equipment.

Together with partner company, Genius Management, O2 can offer a complete service to bands, including guidance with production, marketing assistance and industry advice.

The partnership draws on the skills of a network of local professionals to provide voice and dance coaching, image styling, backing vocals and session artists.

New Deal musicians and schools can take advantage of the studio's superior equipment and facilities through workshop events and specially discounted rates, which make O2 no more expensive than other local recording studios.
