THE threat of terrorism against businesses in the region will be the subject of a unique security seminar.
Worried business people have contacted Durham Constabulary in the wake of international and national terrorist attacks.
In response, Crime Free Zone has put together a programme of security seminars to give advice to companies in County Durham.
The practical sessions are based on work from the National Terrorist Crime Prevention Unit, which held a conference in Darlington last month.
Coordinator Steve Brown said: "The threat of terrorism is making people concerned. Every country has its own home grown terrorists, in Britain we have the Real IRA."
He added: "The seminars will tell them what to look out for, how to deal with suspicious packages and basic practical advice."
Speakers at the seminar include Acting Inspector John Zissler, of County Durham constabulary, Brian George, counter terrorism prevention officer, and Inspector Tim Wilson, project co-ordinator of Durham Agency Against Crime.
The conference is being held at Redworth Hall, near Newton Aycliffe, tomorrow, at 2pm.
