A DALES housewife is trying to save a children's adventure group.
Lynn Ramsay has run the nine-member Beavers troop at Wolsingham, in Weardale, for three years. But she fears the group will fold if she cannot recruit other leaders to help with the work.
"We are facing a real crisis," said Mrs Ramsay.
The Beavers, aged six to eight, are the youngest branch of the Scout movement.
Mrs Ramsay said the children were taught from a very young age how to build a good community spirit.
The Wolsingham group meets once a week, from 4.45pm to 6pm.
"But we could have a more flexible approach to these hours if new leaders would join me," said Mrs Ramsay.
"We could take on more children. Ideally I would like to see the group built up to 15 in number."
Anyone interested in helping with the Beavers troop can contact Mrs Ramsay on (01388) 527819.
