A FIRE service is in line for a customer service award.
Cleveland Fire Brigade has been named among the final four contenders for The Daily Telegraph/Energis Customer Service Public Sector and Utilities award.
More than 240 organisations entered the competition, covering eight categories, and as part of its entry, Cleveland brigade's quality assurance division demonstrated how it delivers service promises, exceeds targets and carries out community safety projects to win public confidence.
For the second year running, the team will attend the awards ceremony in London, next Wednesday.
Technical services officer David Hansford said: "We are delighted to be short-listed for this award.
"We have shown how the brigade has carried out its aim to make the community safer, reduce accidental fire deaths and casualties and exceed our targets to reduce calls, as well as demonstrating why members of the public have 100 per cent confidence in the brigade.
