A HOUSING association is planning to build bungalows for the elderly in Newton Aycliffe.
The Home Housing Association has submitted an application for 16 bungalows on land off Pease Way, including one disabled unit and 16 car parking spaces.
No objections have been submitted, but Sedgefield Borough Council's landscape architect has raised concerns over the loss of trees, the loss of a public open space and the need for landscaping.
There are also concerns that the parking spaces may be used by other Pease Way residents and that the private through road will become an access road to nearby garages.
The council's development control committee will be asked to approve the plan at a meeting tomorrow
