STAR players from the Darlington Building Society North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League received awards at the league's annual presentation evening at the Billingham Synthonia club.
Graham Shaw of premier division champions Guisborough was the player of the year for the second year running. He ended the season with a batting average of 69.41 and a bowling average of 14.52. He scored 1,180 runs, took 21 wickets, held 13 catches and passed 50 runs eight times.
The young player of the year award went to William Wyatt of Yarm, who scored 748 runs at an average of 41.56 in his first season.
In the under 17s he scored 552 runs at an average of 55.20 and took ten catches and three stumpings as wicketkeeper. He also took ten wickets at an average of 8.89 and captained Yarm under 17s to the junior (north) championship and the junior cup final.
The awards were presented by Peter Rowley, chief executive of Darlington Building Society, who said: "Congratulations are due, not only to Graham and William, but to every award winner, particularly Guisborough cricket club, who won the premier division by 40 points."
