A THEATRE and arts centre has launched a friends scheme to thank patrons who are making it one of the region's premier venues.
The Customs House, in Mill Dam, South Shields, has two art galleries, a theatre, cinema and a coffee bar.
In the past year the theatre has attracted 53,000 people to plays and shows, including the pantomime, music events and dance performances.
An additional 28,000 patrons used the cinema, fitted earlier this year with Dolby digital surround sound and new seating.
In total, there has been a 11.5 per cent increase in attendance since last November.
Benefits to friends include advance information about shows, priority booking, as well as discounted and even complimentary tickets.
The scheme is to be launched on November 30. Single membership is £25 (£20 concessions), with couple's membership costing £30 (£25 concessions). For details call Nichola Dees, on 0191-454 1234
