The fixture between DSRMSC and East End was clearly a boys versus men affair with the men triumphing 15-1.
East End had ten different marksmen including goalkeeper Scott Wood who converted a penalty. Shaun Collins on his return from suspension scored four, Mark Maddison three and one each from Michael Patterson, Jimmy Francis, John Banks, Phillip Basnett, Jason Jackson and subs Roy Winter and Gary Budd. Andrew Shaw got DSRM's consolation.
Killinghall Arms took an early lead against Grey Horse but David Palmer soon levelled. However, Killie bucked up their ideas and ran out 5-1 winners. Killies scorers were Neil Matthias two, Keith Simcox, Neil Roddy and Andrew Roberts.
Post Boy soon took the initiative at home to RA Social and after Darren Hewitson had converted a free kick Richie Gardner added a second. RA came more into the game in the second half but Stuart Illingworth increased Post Boy's lead and a last minute penalty made the final score 4-0. Post Boy's Jonathan Slater was man of the match.
In an extraordinary game at Haughton School Newton Aycliffe raced into a three goal lead and after only 35 minutes their lead stood at 4-3. Defences tightened up in a second half dominated by Shuttle and Loom but it wasn't until the last five minutes that Shuttle completed a remarkable comeback by scoring the two goals which gave them a 5-4 victory. Chris Airey (2), Mark Wrangham, Simon Thompson and Mark Jenkinson were Shuttle's scorers. The remainder of the league teams were on Durham Minor Cup duty and there were four victors from the five teams taking part. Archdeacon beat Norsk Hydro 4-1 and Andy Vernon two, and Anth Thorns were among the scorers.
Greyhounds travelled to Sunderland and soon found themselves a goal down to the Torrens. However David Lewis kept his cool to convert two penalties to give them a welcome win.
Rothmans were pleased to return from Consett with a 2-1 victory against the local Methodist Church side and The Albion enjoyed their journey home courtesy of a 2-1 against the Three Tuns, Paul O'Hagan and Gavin Bell their scorers. Grammar School Old Boys miserable season continued as they lost out by the odd goal in nine against West Auckland Earl Of Warwick.Albion Under 9's
Darlington Albion
The Under 9s played away to Catterick Village. All four games showed great improvement and determination reflected in the following results and their first win of the season:- Game 1) Catterick 2 Albion 0; Game 2) Catterick 0 Albion 1 - Scorer: Stuart; Game 3) Catterick 3 Albion 0; Game 4) Catterick 0 Albion 0; The whole squad were deservedly awarded "Man of the Match".
The Albion Under 13's entertained Barnard Castle at home. During a very even first half, Albion pressured the depleted Barnard Castle side through the mid-field, setting up Albion striker Richard Metcalfe with two goals.
After the re-start Lee McKie utilised the left wing feeding Richard Metcalf the well taken opportunity to score his hat-trick. Barnard Castle courageously came back towards the end of the match, taking a deserved consolation goal.
