THE secretary of a riding club is retiring after almost 20 years.

Hilary Clare became involved with Guisborough Riding Club when her daughter, Vicki, was riding and competing successfully.

When Vicki gave up riding and moved to Scotland, Mrs Clare stayed on as secretary.

Now Mrs Clare has decided to step down because she has reached retirement age.

Mrs Clare said she had thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many people and would miss them but said she left the club with a healthy bank account and plenty of assets.
