TWO history students took part in a visit to Auschwitz to witness the horrors of the Holocaust.
Anna Bradley and Philip Kreczak, both 18, from Stockton Sixth Form, said experiencing the site of the concentration and extermination camps was extremely moving.
They saw cabinets full of personal items, including artificial limbs and shoes.
However, they said the most distressing part of the day was the gas chambers which had an "eerie atmosphere".
The students will use their experience to prepare an activity to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
