FORMER football star Emlyn Hughes has delivered an anti-drugs message to pupils at a North-East school.
The ex-Liverpool and England captain was guest of honour at the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Achievement Evening at St Peter's Comprehensive School in South Bank, Middlesbrough.
He told the pupils: "Three young girls have died in the past week from taking drugs - imagine how their mums and dads must feel.
"You've got a cracking school, cracking teachers and cracking parents so don't let them down. Stay off drugs and don't touch cigarettes."
Headteacher John Cornally said he was proud of the pupils' achievements
