A LOTTERY grant means there will be more to do at a special school's out-of-hours club.
Springwell Dene School, at Plains Farm, Sunderland, teaches pupils with emotional, behavioural and social problems.
The school has been given £4,850 from the Lottery Awards for All fund to buy archery equipment, ten mountain bikes and a mountain bike trailer.
As well as being used by the out-of-hours club, the school is also planning to allow local people to use the equipment.
School curriculum support worker Paul Ramsay said: "The positive relationships we forge during out-of-hours clubs trans-fer to the classroom and help students achieve in areas of the curriculum they, or their parents, thought would not be possible.
"This equipment has meant our range of activities has been enhanced and has captured the interest of many of the students.'
