SHE insists she has always lived a quiet life and did not want any fuss over reaching her 100th birthday.
But family and friends of Grace Naylor were not about to let the occasion go unnoticed - and threw a huge party in her honour at the DalesCare centre, in Bedale, North Yorkshire.
The centre, which is entering its tenth year, has a colour photograph on the wall, showing Mrs Naylor meeting Princess Alexandra when the Royal visitor opened the building on June 4, 1992.
Mrs Naylor said: "I have just lived a quiet life and have no special recipe for living to be 100. I have lived through two wars and I don't want to live through another one.
"I don't see much of the world now because I don't go out as much, but I have been very fortunate with all the help I have received."
