YOUNGSTERS in Redcar and Cleveland are being asked to join forces and run small community projects.
The National Tenants' Resource Centre provides residential training for groups of young people aged between 11 and 16. The training is practical and aims to inspire and support groups to develop small projects to benefit the local community.
Mike Amos-Simpson, youth programme coordinator at the centre, said: "We are trying to recruit groups from those areas that would most benefit from the courses.
"The response we've had from groups on previous courses has been excellent, and we have many examples of groups going on to develop their own projects.
"We are particularly looking for small local groups, with committed adult support, wanting to get something started and needing ideas or a little help."
The courses last for four days and are held at Trafford Hall, near Chester, during school holiday periods.
Places are available for groups of six young people and two local adults and the total cost is £150, including all food and accommodation.
