Teesside Airport today clinched a three year deal securing flights between the region and London Heathrow.
The deal with British Midland means that flights will be maintained at their current level of three daily.
New flights and extra services will also be considered, say airport chiefs. The news is a boost for the airport in the wake of the security attacks in America which has led to many airlines cutting services and jobs.
