TWO Hambleton villages are celebrating after being awarded more than £6,600 in grant aid from the district council.
Sports groups in Alne and Tollerton, both near Easingwold, are to benefit from cash from the authority's grants to voluntary sports organisations scheme.
Alne village cricket club has received £552 towards a new water supply, while the parish leisure association was given £5,000, which will help towards providing tennis courts and other multi-use facilities on a new recreation area.
Tollerton sports and recreation club will add its £1,095 grant to funds for new mowers.
