A COUNCIL is raising awareness of adoption as part of its campaign to dispel the myths about adopting children.
The latest in a series of information meetings is being held by Gateshead Borough Council later this month, in a bid to get more residents interested in adoption.
People who are single, in couples, from different ethnic backgrounds or who are unemployed are all potentially suitable for adopting children.
Cabinet member Linda Green said: "We can help most suitable people through the process and do not put unnecessary obstacles in the way."
Anyone interested in finding out about adoption can go to the Gateshead Civic Centre from 7pm, on Tuesday, November 27.
