A WOMAN has appeared before magistrates charged with stabbing a teenager during an incident at her house at the weekend.
Michael Parkin, 19, was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen with a kitchen knife at Honister Square, Crook, on Saturday night.
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham where he received surgery for serious internal injuries.
His bowel was punctured and the knife just missed an artery. His condition is described as stable and comfortable.
Jolene Cheesey, 23, of Honister Square, appeared before Sedgefield magistrates yesterday, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
She was released on bail and is next due to appear at Teesside Crown Court on December 18
