FOOTBALL chairman George Reynolds is to appeal against an industrial tribunal's verdict.
Former bar supervisor at Darlington Football Club, Tracy Bailey, 28, won her case for unfair dismissal against Mr Reynolds, who was ordered to pay £8,500 compensation for loss of earnings.
But he has vowed to appeal against the decision and said he would not pay Miss Bailey any compensation.
The club claimed at the tribunal that she was late for work 60 times and failed toturn up 40 times in the 19 months she worked there. But the tribunal said proper procedures were not followed in sacking her.
Mr Reynolds said: "Tribunals are very unfair. If you sack someone you are done for unfair dismissal, and if they walk out you are done for constructive dismissal.
