A GUISBOROUGH man has been awarded a top prize for his dedication to the British Horse Society.
Dr John Sugden received the Bodynfoel Award - for the person who has done the most to promote the British Horse Society - at the group's annual awards ceremony.
The society said Dr Sugden had worked to ensure the society was properly presented to the outside world for many years. He had a deep insight into the law on rights of way, access to the countryside and open space and had also helped to produce advisory literature from the society.
In recent years he had also helped to construct training sessions for volunteers and members and had produced the definitive book on rights of way, without demanding any financial proceeds from his work
