A MAN has been arrested following two indecent assaults on students in daylight.
The 30-year-old man, from Durham City, was seized yesterday morning, but after questioning was released on bail pending further enquiries.
Both attacks happened in the city on Monday afternoon within an hour of each other and left the victims shaken but unhurt.
At 2.20pm a 21-year-old university student calling at a house in Atherton Street was approached from behind by a man who brushed his hand up and down her left leg before running off.
The second attack, an hour later, was more serious and involved an 18-year-old college student who was grabbed from behind near the Angel pub in Crossgate Peth.
The man held her for about ten seconds, indecently assaulted her and then let her go before making off.
Police want any witnesses or women who may have been the victim of a similar attack to call them on 0191-386 4222 or via Crimestoppers on freephone (0800) 555111
