A PENSIONER was recovering from shock last night after a walk-in theft at her home.
The 81-year-old woman was in her house, in Manor Wood, Coulby Newham, in Middlesbrough, when a young man knocked on the door and claimed he knew her.
She let him in, and he stole her purse containing about £10 and her pension book.
Prior to the incident, at about 6.30pm on Monday, police received reports of a man knocking on pensioners' doors, claiming he needed money.
Officers believe the same man may have committed the theft. He is described as white, aged between 18 and 19, between 5ft 4in and 5ft 6in tall, of slim build, with dark, wavy hair. He was wearing a beige fleece.
