DRINKERS at a newly refurbished pub saw double when ten sets of identical twins turned up at the Gretna Green in Newton Aycliffe.
Pictured with manager Ben Duley are, from left, (back row) Kelly and Claire Johnson, 16 from Bishop Auckland; Ashleigh and Chloe Younger, aged three, from Ferryhill; Ewan and Aidan Lowther, aged two, from Coxhoe; Elizabeth and Megan Duff, aged five, from Newton Aycliffe; (front row) Tom and Ross Gallagher, aged eight, from Bishop Auckland; Kyla and Casey Scott, aged three, from Newton Aycliffe.
They were at the pub to celebrate its re-opening after a £42,000 refurbishment and to promote a new two-for-one meal offer.
Mr Duley said: "We really wanted to do something special to mark the opening of this two for one and what better way than to invite twins to be our VIPs for the day?"
The two for one deal means customers can buy any main course and get another one free - all day, every day.
The twins were given a £20 voucher to enjoy at the pub and younger twins had a free play in the pub's Wacky Warehouse indoor play barn.
