STAFF at a Shildon factory have raised £1,000 for charity after taking part in the Great North Run.
Seven members of staff from Calsonic Climate Control were part of a team of more than 600 runners who were raising money for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, which expects to raise about £150,000 in total from the event.
The Calsonic team handed over their cheque for £1,000 to Helen Robertson, national events manager for the charity, last week.
Ms Robertson said: "The Great North Run is a very important fundraising event for us and it is great to see so much support in Shildon.
"We had one of the largest charity teams in this year's run and have been overwhelmed with the commitment of our runners."
Entry forms are already available for next year's Great North Run, on Sunday, October 6.
