EVERYDAY objects have been turned into objects of art at a new exhibition.
Eight North-East artists have used materials such as glass, felt, wood and thread to create art for an exhibition.
The exhibition is already attracting big turn-outs to The Old Fulling Mill Museum of Archaeology, in Durham City. Works are presented by eight women, including weavers and glass artists.
"Each of the styles is different," said artist Joan van Hove from Tantobie, near Stanley. "There's some really unusual, arresting images and some very pleasing work."
The other artists are Jane Gifford, also from Tantobie; Alison Wood, from Durham City; Maralyn O'Keefe, from Lanchester; Melita Butterell, from Spennymoor; Geni Glatt, from Sunderland; Marguerite Elliot, from Easington; and Margaret Williams, from Middlesbrough.
The exhibition runs until the end of December, between 11am and 4pm on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Entry costs £1 (50p concessions)
