Police officers investigating a hit and run incident involving a blind man and a cerebral palsy sufferer have renewed their appeal for witnesses.
Detectives working on the case have been disappointed by the public's response since the incident on November 15 in Darlington.
Blind Gavin Atkins and cerebral palsy sufferer Philip Stokes were knocked down after crossing Hollyhurst Road, close to the town's memorial hospital.
The driver abandoned the red Ford Fiesta XR2 nearby and ran off.
After the story appeared in the The Northern Echo, only one person has come forward with more information.
A police spokesman said: "We were disappointed with the public appeal for help. "Samples have been taken from the vehicle involved and sent to forensics.
"We are awaiting the results of this and we are hopeful that it may provide pointers on the person responsible.
"We would appeal for anyone has any more information on the incident or who witnessed it to contact us."
Mr Stokes, secretary of St Matthews and St Lukes in Brinkburn Road is still in hospital receiving treatment for a broken leg.
Anyone with any information should contact PC Mick O'Hanlon or PC Gary O'Neill on 01325 361351.
