A CONTROVERSIAL shop that sells sex aids has declared that business is booming.
The shop - Dominion, in Station Road, Redcar - is a Gothic and fetish clothing and accessories store.
It was branded a disgrace by the chairman of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's licensing committee, Councillor Brenda Forster, who objected to the sale of sex aids and said the shop should be on a trading estate.
But owner Mark Davis said the sale of sex aids was just a small part of his business. One week after opening, he said business was going well. "Every day we are selling a fair bit of stuff," he said.
"We are also doing quite a few private viewings. We have a lot of students saying it is great for the clothes, the young ones are coming in for the clothes." "It is going really well and proves our argument that there is a gap in the market in Redcar."
