FRED Mence Construction Ltd has enjoyed a treble training celebration.
The Birtley civil engineering and building contractor notched a hat-trick of achievements as it announced that eight trainees had achieved NVQ successes, two employees had qualified as assessors and the company had been recognised as an accredited training organisation.
The success follows the company's decision to formally commit to Investors in People. It is working with Business Link (Tyne and Wear) towards an assessment. The eight operatives who achieved NVQ Level 2 were Keith Forsyth, Ray Mole, Les Gair, Colin Lilburn, Jim McKenzie, Peter Butcher, Brian Haswell and Jason Watts. Fred Mence Construction employs more than 100 people and has an annual turnover in excess of £5m.
