SIX members of the same family appeared in court yesterday charged with public order offences.
Andrew Cliff, 35, of St Wilfred's Walk, South Church; John Paul Cliff, 28, of Front Street, West Auckland; Diane Cliff, 32, of Central Avenue, Mark Anthony Cliff, 29, of Byland Close, Michael Cliff, 37, and his wife, Alison Margaret Cliff, 36, of Central Avenue, all St Helen Auckland, County Durham, appeared before Sedgefield magistrates.
Five have been charged with threatening unlawful violence, and Alison Margaret Cliff is accused of using threatening, abusive or insulting words.
The charges relate to a disturbance at West Auckland Football Club on Saturday night and an incident in Central Avenue, St Helen Auckland, on Sunday.
Andrew Cliff, Michael Cliff, and John Paul Cliff were remanded in custody. The rest were bailed. The case was adjourned until next Monday.
