THREE dancing girls have won a national talent contest at a holiday camp.
Sisters Kirsty and Tammy Potter and their friend Sarah Williamson, from Bishop Auckland, claimed top spot in the Pontins competition.
The girls reached the final by winning a heat in Blackpool with their Jackson Five song and dance routine.
That earned them a trip to Wales to compete in the final against 45 others, and they were narrowed down to the best ten.
The girls performed the same routine, which they devised and choreographed themselves, and that earned them the vote from the judges.
Kirsty, 13, Tammy, 12, and Sarah, 13, received a silver trophy and a cheque for £100 for winning the event, which also included a performance by pop group Supersister.
Adele Aldworth, Kirsty and Tammy's mother, was one of the family members who travelled to the final.
She said: "We knew they were good, especially as they picked their own song, but we never thought for a minute they'd get the top prize because the competition was really tough."
The girls attend Daisy's Dance School, in Bishop Auckland, and Tammy receives singing lessons from Terence Lawson, in School Aycliffe.
