AN activity day for County Durham disabled children and young people was held near Durham City at the weekend.
The Children's Network event, organised by Durham County Council social services department, took place at the Deerness Valley Sports Centre at Ushaw Moor.
Activities included shadow puppetry, percussion music, games and dance, face painting, sensations rooms, soft play and using computers to communicate for fun.
The council is keen for more families with disabled children to register with the Children's Network to get the support and advice it offers. Children's Network project worker Rob Watson said the event was a chance for families to have fun together and find out more about the Children's Network.
They also had the chance to register with the network, which has more than 300 youngsters on its books.
