A DRIVER has died in hospital eleven days after his car rolled over into a field near Bishop Auckland.
Michael Archer, 42, of Ash Drive, Willington, County Durham, had been in Newcastle General Hospital since November 16, when his Ford Mondeo crashed off Long Lane, half a mile north-west of the Binchester and Byers Green junction.
The car smashed through a fence and a hedgerow and rolled over several times before coming to rest on its wheels.
Immediately after the accident, Mr Archer, who was alone in the car, was taken to the University Hospital, Durham, with serious head injuries and transferred the same day to Newcastle General Hospital
