ARCHIE Acorn and Laurie Leaf demonstrated the art of tree hugging yesterday.
To coincide with National Tree Week, which runs until Sunday, Lingfield Farm Countryside Centre, in Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, is hosting a traditional indoor woodland fair.
As part of the event, from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, a storyteller will tell tales about trees, and visitors will be able to sample woodland crafts including hurdle making, willow weaving and wood turning.
The afternoon will take on a festive flavour when people create willow stars, winter tree cone decorations, natural Christmas cards and tree calendars.
Jon Clarkson, Lingfield centre manager, said: "This is an opportunity for people to discover a little more about woodlands while taking part in fun activities. It's an ideal way to get involved in National Tree Week."
