HARTLEPOOL United goalkeeper Anthony Williams last night urged the players in front of him to keep up the good work.

Williams has gone 360 minutes without conceding a goal in the Third Division and he is hoping to add to those against Rochdale tomorrow night.

But the 24-year-old admits that he does not feel he has had that much to do during the recent run of good results, which has seen Pool overcome Swansea, Halifax, Exeter and Hull without conceding a goal.

"Apart from the game at Swansea last week I have rarely been called upon," said the Welshman. "That's been due to the rest of the lads.

"I'm happy with the way I'm playing and it will be nice if I can keep Rochdale out on Friday."

Rochdale's visit to Victoria Park is another Pool match not to be played on the traditional football Saturday.

But Williams has enjoyed the switch and he is hoping the fans pour into the ground to try to help Chris Turner's men climb further up the table - possibly into a play-off place.

And the former Blackburn Rovers shot-stopper said: "I like night games. I think there is a better atmosphere.

"If the fans can come along again, possibly even more of them, then hopefully they can cheer us on to another win.

"Rochdale will be tough opposition because they are doing well, but I'm convinced we can continue to show our good form."

Centre-back Gordon Simms should be back in training by the end of the week after shaking off an ankle sprain.

* Former Pool target Derek Holmes has completed a move to Second Division Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old Scot has moved from Ross County for an undisclosed five figure fee.
