Darlington Spraire Lads and Lasses - Spraire Lasses Under-11s made an excellent start in their 5-3 win over Reyrolles Kestrals with a goal after three minutes from girl of the match Rachel McKnight, Kirsty Watt equalised after 20 minutes.

Laura Spence in goal for Spraire Lasses made good saves from Jessica Roberts and Sarah Wilson.

Jordan Atkinson scored two goals after 23 and 38 minutes. The first goal was an assist from newcomer Keely Edwards. Jessica Roberts pulled a goal back for Reyrolles. McKnight scored after 39 minutes lashing in an unstoppable shot. Laurel Barr and Joann Wray held firm in defence for Spraire Lasses making several important tackles.

Atkinson completed her hat-trick after 48 minutes. Emmy Campbell scored the final goal for Reyrolles giving Spraire Lasses a 5-3 victory. The Lasses are top of the League with three victories in three games.

At Under-17 level Spraire in third place played Marske United who occupied second place. After last weeks poor performance Spraire reliesed they had to play a lot better this week to gain anything from this match. In a great first half performance Spraire scored through Bristchuck and Blenkharn the second half was just as impressive with the defence having to dig deep to record a deserved 2-0 victory.

The Under-11s were also in top form playing Yarm town in a first v second clash. In an excellent game Spraire opened the scoring when Hickman won a tackle for Coglan to seize on the ball and fire an excellent strike over the Yarm keepers head.

This spurred Yarm and only resolute defending by Davison and keeping by stand-in Leighton kept Yarm at bay. Spraire won a corner from a good delivery by Coglan the flick-on was converted by Ward.

However, from the restart Yarm attacked and Shevells fired the ball home. In the second half Yarm turned on the pressure and only a fine double save from Leighton stopped them equalising. Such pressure led to Spraire counter-attacking and Martin found Ward who in turn found Coglan to settle the match with a fine strike. In a 3-1 victory man of the match went to keeper Leighton.

At Under-14 the B team continued their push for promotion with a 8-1 victory over Whitby goals coming from Oliver (3) McDonald (3) Tarren and Jakeway. At the same age despite an excellent first half the A team lost 11-2, the Spraire goals scored by Healey and Butler.

At Under-13 in the Richmond league Spraire played Dales Diamonds winning 3-0 in a good performance goals came from McBride Boyce and man of the matc Thomas Chandler.

The Under-12's lost 1-0 to Linthorpe Falcons man of the match going to Sam Wooton.

In mini-soccer the Under-10s went to Newton Aycliffe SC in the Teeside league wining 6-1 goals coming from Nicholas Petch (3) David Johnson and two for man of the match Craig Swainston.

In the folowing friendly Spraire lost 4-3 goals coming from Owen Raper (2) and Jonathan Blewitt. In the Cleveland league Spraire went to Stockton West End winning 3-1 goals coming from Jonathan Blewitt Micheal Gillander and man of the match Ben Turnbull. In the following friendly Spraire lost 2-0.

At Under-8 Spraire played Whinney Banks losing 4-2 goals coming from Jim Wilson and Kerry Headley in a man of the match performance.

Darlington 21st Allstars

At seven-a-side level, in the Teesside Alliance, the Under-10 Colts had a welcome 4-2 victory at home to Hartlepool Juniors. Sean Simpson helped himself to a hat-trick and Michael Johnston got the other. Connor Richings was Man of the Match. In a subsequent friendly, the Colts lost 5-1 with Richard Miller getting their only goal.

At 11-a-side level, the Under-14s were at home to Stokesley SC and recorded a well-deserved 3-1 victory. An all-round team display better than those of recent weeks saw Darryl Roberts make it eight for the season with two goals and Dale Thomas got the other one. Man of the Match was David McDade.

The Under-11 Colts were away to Belasis Juniors and won 4- 1, their first away victory of the season and well deserved. The Colts' scorers were Matthew Shaw (2), Adam Macdonald and Benn Murphy. The Man of the Match award went to goalkeeper Sam Jones for a fine display.

The Under-12 Colts were at home to Riverside Rovers and ran out 3-1 winners.

Before the match, the teams were joint second in their division but the Colts were the stronger team on the day. The goals came via Jack Ridley (2) (22 for the season) and Graham Looney, with the Man of the Match award going to Craig Hancock.

The Under-12s were away to Teesside Athletic and dominated the match throughout, putting in a first-class display and winning 7-0. Lee Mullis grabbed a hat-trick, Jack Henderson made it 14 for the season with two goals and the others came from Ryan Stammer and Man of the Match Jamie Stokes.

The Under-11s visited South Bank Juniors and drew 1-1. This was particularly galling as they had chances galore to take all three points. However, Ross Kelly's strike was the only success. Man of the Match was Daniel Groves.

The Under-15s' game at Seaton Carew finished honours even, 1-1. Allstars went one down after a few minutes but managed to come back to take a point with a great goal from Carl Garthwaite. Man of the Match was Andy Welch.

The Under-17s travelled to Coulby Newham and finished up on the wrong side of a 5-1 scoreline. 2-0 down at half-time, Allstars reduced the arrears via Man of the Match Craig Winkworth and had chances to equalise. However, they pushed up too much and the home side caught them on the break three times to take the points.

The Under-14s were away to North Tees Juniors and ended up losing 7-1. The Colts had their chances but failed to get into the game and only managed the one goal courtesy of Adam Yeadon. Man of the Match was Marc Tills.

At seven-a-side level, in the Teesside Alliance, the Under-10s visited Norton and Stockton Ancients and lost 1-0, hitting the woodwork in the last minute. Man of the match was Jack Binks. In a subsequent friendly the Under-10s won 3-2 with goals from Dean Bland, Jack Johns and Lee Gibbon. Man of the match was goalkeeper Adam Scarr.

Darlington Albion

Albion Under-9s played away to Richmond and, as in previous weeks, the following results showed continued improvement, with Games 1 and 3 being very close, while in Game 4, Stuart Cameron scored a well taken goal from a free kick. Game 1 Albion lost 2-0 M.O.M. Luke Gill, Game 2 lost 8-0 M.O.M.

Harry Cornish, Game 3 drew 0-0 M.O.M. Jack Scarr and Game 4 lost 4-1, M.O.M. Daniel Clark, Goal Scorer Stuart Cameron.

Albion Under-11s played away against Richmond. Albion started off nervously as the home side pushed forward to try and break the dead-lock, but Albion capitalised on the home sides tactics with a counter attack from the defense, and a toe-poke finish, against the run of play, from Callum Tarren made it 0-1 to the visitors. In a fiercely contested first half the home side equalised just on half time, chances coming and going from both sides. Albion, who weathered the storm in the first half, played with more passion and commitment in the second, Ged Cameron made it 1-2 to the visitors, Callum Tarren 1-3 and Steve Wason with a header from a corner kick made it 1-4 to Albion and 7 wins out of 7 games. The Under-12s entertained Richmond. Albion keeper Michael Haddick showed good form, saving at the feet of the Richmond attackers on a couple of occasions. After Albion hit the bar from a free-kick, Richmond went on to score and with the time ticking away Albion had one last chance to score from a corner, but failed to capitalise. Final score 0-1 to Richmond, M.O.M. Andy Grey.

Albion Under-13s having no league game, organised a friendly at home with Teesside League Spraire Lads 'A'. Albion gave the non-regular members of the squad a full game. The first half was even, beyond the belief of the home team managers, conceding only three goals in the first half due to errors, and scoring an excellent goal from Lucas Coe. Changes were made at half-time forcing Spraire to concede a penalty, scored by Michael Martin.

Albion Under-14s held a training game away at Northallerton on Saturday, utilising a full squad of 20 players in different positions and varying formations. It produced some interesting football, with good prospects for next season. Good individual performances were achieved by captain Mark Hodges, M.O.M.
