A 66-year-old man is recovering today after being involved in a hit-and-run accident in Hartlepool.
The man was crossing Stockton Road at around 4.15pm on Thursday when he was knocked down by what is believed to be a red Cavalier.
The driver of the car immediately drove off leaving the man with slight cuts and bruises.
He was taken to the University Hospital of Hartlepool as a precaution.
