A CHILDREN'S hospice can look forward to a cash boost in time for Christmas, thanks to youngsters from Bedale Primary School.
Pupils were asked to search for old toys they don't play with any more and would be happy to give to a good cause.
And, such was the response, the Butterwick Children's Hospice shop, on Richmond's King Street, is hoping to hold a sale next week, with all the proceeds helping to boost the coffers of the hospice at Stockton, on Teesside.
"The children's response was incredible," said support worker Pat Wilson.
"They were so generous and many of the toys were such good quality."
The hospice shop only opened a few weeks ago but has already received a £25,000 donation from the estate of a Richmond couple.
Anyone else who would like to contribute can call in after 10am, on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
