AN abandoned dog is in need of a good home.
Lovable Lennon, a terrier-labrador cross, was taken in by the National Animal Sanctuary Support League, near Darlington.
The four-year-old is being cared for by a foster family in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, but desperately needs a permanent home.
Animal carer Pauline Wilson said: "Lennon is a gentle giant. He has a great personality and really is a loving dog."
The sanctuary is also housing two abandoned terrier pups, Tara, a Staffordshire cross and Sally, a Jack Russell cross.
The home, which is already inundated with dogs and cats, is warning people against giving pets as Christmas presents.
Pauline said: "People get pets as presents and give them to loved ones on Christmas morning, then they are forgotten about."
Anyone who can offer a good home to any of the dogs should call (01325) 321855 or (07970) 335029.
