FARMERS' markets are such a hit with shoppers in Bishop Auckland that they are going to be held every month.
Regular markets are held across the Wear Valley and Teesdale districts to give dales farmers a showcase for their products.
Now the stalls in Bishop Auckland market place have been given a permanent slot of the second Friday of every month, from 10am to 3pm.
Cathie Tinn, farmers, market manager, said: "They have gone really well in Bishop Auckland which is why we have decided to hold them monthly.
"Because Bishop Auckland is such an urban area, it is an ideal way of bringing the countryside into the town and taking the town into the countryside."
A Christmas market is planned for Thursday and the programme will get under way in February.
