A GROUP of police officers have raised more than £1,000 for charity after taking part in a sponsored bike ride.
The seven officers plus one civilian worker, from Stockton, cycled 204 miles from St Bees Head, in Cumbria, to Saltburn in three days.
They raised £1,011, which is to be donated to the local Lymphoma Charity.
PC Ian Robson said: "We chose this charity because a former colleague's mother is suffering from the illness and we hope it will go in some way to finding the cause of the disease."
The ride, which was done in September, was done the hard way from west to east.
PC Robson, said: "It was extremely difficult as there was a strong prevailing wind. The easy bit however, was the cycle ride, the hard bit was collecting the money."
The cheque will be handed over by the officers today to Gillian Latter from the Lymphoma Association.
