MANUFACTURING businesses in Sedgefield borough will soon benefit from access to the latest simulated engineering technology thanks to a new consultancy project.
Durham University's School of Engineering is basing two engineers at Sedgefield Business Centre in a new partnership with SBBS.
Known as The Agility Project, the engineers will offer skilled knowledge and expertise to assist businesses competing within the manufacturing environment.
Karl McCracken, project manager,said: "The Agility Project is delighted to continue its involvement with SBBS and is looking forward to working with businesses in the borough.
"We will be applying modern techniques and the latest technology to stimulate manufacturing growth and employment."
Janet Johnson, manager of SBBS, said: "We are very pleased to work with the university to offer this valuable resource to businesses.
"Companies will benefit from the excellent services available from SBBS with the added value of the Agility Project team's skill and expertise in modern manufacturing methods."
All members of The Agility Project's team have direct industrial manufacturing experience in the fields of electronics, automotive, electro- mechanical, mechanical, chemical, aerospace, and computing.
