FISHBURN'S beat bobby has a new office, thanks to a local developer.
PC Keith Todd plans to hold police surgeries three times a week in his new office at Alexander House.
The building is the old Fishburn Primary School, which was due for demolition until Alexander Developments decided to convert it into a new company headquarters.
They have set aside a room for PC Todd to use as an office, which will be open on Mondays from 10am to 11am and from 2pm to 3pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
PC Todd said: "I'm the village bobby for both Fishburn and Sedgefield, but when I do go to Fishburn there's no place for me, so I have to sit in the car or walk around.
"If people do stop me, I have to deal with it there and then, make arrangements to come back to their house another day or they've got to come to Sedgefield.
"Now, I've got a place in Fishburn where they can come at certain times of the week.
"Once it's established, they'll know that on Monday mornings and Wednesday and Saturday afternoons they can come and speak to me in person."
The new facility, dubbed Fishburn International Police Office by PC Todd, was officially opened by Chief Superintendent Paul Tinkler and Fishburn Parish Council clerk Kester Noble.
