RESIDENTS are making their mark on a town's park as part of a restoration project.
The scheme is under way at Middlesbrough's Albert Park, and includes replacing some of the perimeter gates with new ones designed by local artist Sue Woolhouse.
She has invited people to make casts of their favourite flowers to be made in glass and fitted to the new gates.
The gates will be made in metal by John Hay, of Hay Metalcraft, and will stand at four entrances to the park.
Many users of the Surestart Centre, near the park, have been involved in the project.
Tansee Cartwright, of Middlesbrough Borough Council, said: "The glass pieces that are created will form an intricate and beautiful part of the new gates for a long time to come."
