A FORMER Green Howard has made a special offer to everyone in his regiment - cut price membership of his new gym in Guisborough.
Craig Bayliss, who was a physical training instructor in the Green Howards from 1982 to 1986, now owns Body Zone, in Park Lane, in the east Cleveland market town.
He has decided to offer a special rate to anyone connected with the regiment - from the Green Howards members of the Army Cadet Force, to members of the Green Howards associations of former soldiers.
Mr Bayliss, who served with the regiment in Germany, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, opened the gym in the former Territorial Army Hall two years ago.
The building is well known to generations of Green Howards and his most recent visitors were three soldiers from the 1st Battalion who were on a recruitment drive.
Mr Bayliss said: "As well as offering these special membership rates to anyone who has worn the Green Howards cap badge, I'm extending my invitation to any 1st Battalion members who are in the area - perhaps to those who have over - indulged at Christmas!
"I would be especially pleased to welcome any TA, or former TA men, who remember the hall before I installed all my equipment," said Mr Bayliss.
