STAFF at Darlington library have been celebrating their success in a national competition.
The library was rewarded in the Library Association and Emerald Public Relation and Publicity Awards at the British Library, in London.
Darlington Library won a highly commended certificate, and was runner-up in the category for a promotional campaign with a budget under £500 for their one-day event for the visually impaired.
The day called A Touch of Reading took place in May.
As well as a certificate, the library won six months' free access to the Emerald's fulltext database, which contains more than 35,000 reference articles.
It was the first time Darlington had entered a national library competition.
