A YOUNG cancer victim's wish came true at the weekend with a special day out and present organised by a charity for sick children.
Nine-year-old Jack Pedleham was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma two-and-a-half years ago and a consultant at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Kevin Windebank, introduced his family to the Make a Wish Foundation. The charity's secret plans to make the Darlington youngster's wish come true were realised on Sunday when his family were taken by white limousine for a meal at the town's New Grange Hotel.
Once they arrived, Jack was presented with a laptop computer and games, the items he wished for when asked by the charity, which he can use when he is in hospital.
The foundation is aimed at the whole family, so Jack's parents, Roger and Jane, were included.
Mr Pedleham said: "When Jack saw the limousine coming down the street he rushed outside to watch, not expecting it to be for him."
