The Gilesgate derby was almost abandoned after the first frame due to power failure at the DLI. However after a seventy minutes wait the visiting Three Horse Shoes were not put off and went on to record a five points victory, inspired by David Mollon.
The home side had moved ahead before the light failure when Stuart Spensley won but after the re-start Mollon levelled with Andy Seal pushing the visitors ahead. Steve Harmiston restored the status quo with a win for the DLI. The visitors then hit a purple patch with five frames in a row through Dennis Lumley, Chris Bowran, Neil Bailly, Michael Parker and Andy Seal.
